D2 Architects work with small and medium property developers to share our knowledge and architectural flair. We work across Chester, North Wales and Wirral and meet unique project requirements within budget. Our property development portfolio includes luxury homes, apartments, retirement complexes and social housing.
D2 Architects adhere to practical and technical specifications across the design and build process. Delivering striking aesthetics and beautiful homes, we create positive communities that thrive.
Hoofield Hall Barns are a group of Grade II listed buildings located in Huxley, Cheshire. D2 developed luxury housing to complement the award-winning Cheshire Barn Homes.
We were careful not to alter the structure of the barns to keep the same architectural form. D2 modernised some features, such as the king trusses inside some roofs. However, we ensured that conservation officers approved all alterations.
During the process, we effectively communicated with Cheshire Barn Homes and our team. We completed the large-scale project on time and within budget. The new luxury-housing development is respectful of the site’s past, yet embraces the future.

Situated on a Victorian cotton mill site in central Spenbrook, these detached homes and mews are individually designed to bring together rural appeal, heritage and luxurious modern comforts.
Celebrating the former carpet factory’s proud history, the distinctive and sympathetic exterior design helps the homes fit wonderfully into the natural environment and existing hamlet.

A new build luxury apartment building in Chester, Station Road is situated within close proximity to the city’s railway station. Also visible from Hoole Bridge, the need to reflect both the cityscape and surrounding architectural vernacular was key.
Through vigorous analysis and development, this development not only reflects the local typology, but also provides a key gateway to Station Road.
The site’s success is testament to the collaborative approach of our team, our client and Cheshire West & Chester Planning Authority.

D2 has contributed to the social housing development constructed on Pontybodkin Hill. The development will consist of 24 social housing units that promote a sense of belonging. The properties will interconnect through spatial awareness and typology to encourage community interaction.
The playful use of traditional materials gives a contemporary feel to the facades and composition. Elevation treatment was incorporated into the housing layout and plot levels.
The development is due for completion in 2024. The layout, architecture and site composition will promote a sense of place and wellbeing.
