Situated within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), our client wanted to create a new modern dwelling that captured the traditional rural values of the beautiful North Wales countryside.

We set about identifying key principals to explore – namely, pitched slate roofs, simple building forms and the idea of connecting new and old. The solution was to create two forms – a stone cladding section and rendered clad element, both connected with a modern glass link.

The conclusion is a simple yet elegant building that blends seamlessly with its rural setting.
